Regional West Honors Staff at Quarterly Awards Banquet
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Regional West recently hosted its first quarter Employee Awards Reception; recognizing staff for years of service, and recipients of the STAR, PEARL, and DAISY awards for outstanding service and patient care. Employees are nominated quarterly by co-workers, staff, patients, and visitors. The first DAISY Leadership award was also presented.
The STAR program at Regional West encourages employees, patients, their family members, and visitors to nominate employees who demonstrate outstanding care and customer service. STAR award winners for the first quarter are Matthew Weingart, who works in Inpatient Pharmacy, and Gale Ridgeway, who works in Outpatient Surgery.
The PEARL award recognizes employees for outstanding customer service, quality patient care, and teamwork. PEARL award winners for the fourth quarter are Ashlie Requejo of Regional West Physicians Clinic-Surgery & Vascular Diagnostics, and Holly Smith of Regional West Physicians Clinic-Family Medicine in Morrill and Gering.
The DAISY Award is an international program that celebrates excellence in nursing. It recognizes and honors the inspiring work that nurses do every day. The winner of the first DAISY Leadership Award is Crystal Kildow, RN, BSN, manager of Scottsbluff Surgery Center and Regional West’s Sterile Processing Department. The winner of the second Regional West DAISY Nursing Award is Heather Miller, RN, who works in the ICU/PCU.
Regional West also honored long-term employees; recognizing staff who have worked for Regional West from five to 40 years.
20 Years: Rebecca Chrisman –3-East Medical/Surgical Nursing, Julia Hardin – Lab Administration, Dana Shultz – Food Service; 25 Years: Christine Buhr – Quality Resource, Lucinda Harriger – Environmental Services; 30 Years: Tamie Carlson – Facilities Management, Sherri Eubanks – Breast Health Center, Kent Lacey, MD – Physicians Clinic-Family Medicine-Scottsbluff, Marvin Miller – Information Systems; 35 Years: Bradley Fulk – Facilities Management, Michelle Meisner – Information Systems; 40 Years: Robin Buchhammer – Materials Management, and Christine Micheels – Recovery Room.
