Regional West Celebrates 2023 Years of Service and Award Recipients
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Regional West recently celebrated the 2023 years of service, STAR award, PEARL Award, DAISY Award, and Caring Kind Award recipients at its annual employee recognition celebration.
Employees celebrating their five-year, 10-year, 15-year, 20-year, 25-year, 30-year, 35-year, and 40-year milestones were recognized with a certificate commemorating their service. Those celebrating 30 years of service and more were honored with a flower arrangement, a coin commemorating Regional West Medical Center’s 100th anniversary, and a brief introduction read by their supervisors or coworkers.
The celebration also honored Regional West’s 2023 STAR, PEARL, DAISY, and Caring Kind Award winners for their commitment to outstanding service and patient care.
The STAR program at Regional West encourages employees, patients, their family members, and visitors to nominate employees who demonstrate outstanding care and customer service. The 2023 first quarter STAR award winner is Mikaela Winters, Regional West Rehab Center. The third quarter STAR award winner is Lanna Zulkoski, Breast Health Center. Leah Gibson, Interventional Radiology, and Amanda Keith, Environmental Services, are the fourth quarter STAR award winners. The 2023 STAR of the Year is Lanna Zulkoski.
The PEARL award recognizes employees for outstanding customer service, quality patient care, and teamwork reflecting Pride, Effort, Attentiveness, Respect, and Leadership. The 2023 first quarter PEARL award winner is Katrina Gonzales, Regional West Physicians Clinic-Family Medicine, Scottsbluff. The second quarter PEARL award winner is Christina White, Regional West Physicians Clinic-Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. The third quarter PEARL award winner is Traci De Los Santos, Regional West Physicians Clinic-Internal Medicine, and the fourth quarter PEARL award winner is Keanna Turnbull, Regional West Physicians Clinic-Pain Management. The PEARL of the Year is Katrina Gonzales.
The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates excellence in nursing. Ervin VonSeggern, a nurse on 2 West, is the 2023 DAISY Award winner.
The Caring Kind Award is an award presented annually by the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) that honors outstanding healthcare employees who have demonstrated compassion for patients, cooperation with co-workers, and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities. Regional West’s 2023 Caring Kind Award winner is Anastasia Manley, Human Resources.
Chief Human Resources Officer Stacie Kallsen, M.Ed, SHRM-CP, said acknowledging the efforts and achievements of Regional West’s employees is a key focus for the facility.
“Recognition connects employees to our organization, elevates performance, and increases the likelihood that employees will stay on our team,” Kallsen said. “We appreciate our employees, and we are thrilled to celebrate their milestones alongside them, especially in our centennial year.”
