Village Residents Receive Christmas Gifts from Anonymous “Angel”
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – The Village at Regional West enjoyed a joyful Christmas season, with carolers from local churches and organizations singing to residents from door to door, and many other fun activities.
Residents of the Assisted Living Unit enjoyed the second annual free Christmas shopping event, which was held in the commons area. Village staff members donated new and gently used items, which were displayed so residents could shop in the comfort of The Village. All items were free of charge so residents took what they wanted to give as gifts. Students from Community Christian School accompanied the residents while they shopped and then wrapped the gifts, placed name tags, and topped each gift with a bow that was hand-made by a Village employee.
Then, on Christmas Eve, each Assisted Living resident received a special gift from an anonymous Christmas angel. She delivered handmade quilts, which she was inspired to make because her grandmother always enjoyed warming her hands under her special quilt. This “Christmas angel” not only warmed the residents’ laps, but warmed all of their hearts with her special gift.
