Regional West to Offer Free Speech Screenings for Children
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Regional West Medical Center speech language pathologists will provide free speech screenings for children on Tuesday, October 21 from 3 to 7 p.m. The screenings will take place at Regional West’s Rehab Center in Medical Plaza South (across from the Air Link helicopter hanger) and are offered to children from birth through12 years old.
Speech screening is advised for children who have difficulties with speech, language, communication, and/or swallowing and feeding skills. This includes children who are picky eaters and those who don’t chew like other children when moving from bottle to sippy cup or puree to solid food, and those who gag or vomit when feeding.
Regional West speech language pathologists provide specialized care for children. The pediatric speech team works diligently with the family and physicians to help children lead happy, healthy lives and communicate with the world around them.
