Regional West Garden County Employee Recognized With “Caring Kind” Award
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Amanda Potts, CNA, a medication aide at Regional West Garden County in Oshkosh, was among 73 health care professionals statewide to be honored recently as a Caring Kind employee at the Nebraska Hospital Association’s (NHA) 2014 Annual Convention in Lincoln.
For 35 years, the Caring Kind award has been given to Nebraska's most caring hospital workers. The award honors outstanding health care employees who have demonstrated compassion for patients, cooperation with co-workers, and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities. Hospitals across the state each select one Caring Kind recipient from within their respective institutions to be recognized during the NHA Annual Convention.
“Amanda exemplifies the Regional West Garden County caregiver role,” said Dr. Jim Hansel, Regional West Garden County CEO. “Her outstanding spirit of compassion and teamwork through peer leadership are what this organization stands for…and why she deserves this honor.”
Potts has worked at Garden County for 16 years, and according to her Caring Kind nomination, is a dedicated employee who is first and foremost a resident advocate. The nomination stated, “When Amanda walks into our facility, she’s here fully, ready to both care for our residents and to support her co-workers…Amanda provides excellent customer service and her name is often brought up by family members for the excellent cares she gives. She is highly respected by her co-workers and is a great mentor, willing to welcome and train both new and existing staff.”
