Nebraska Public Power District Donates Nightlights for Newborns
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – In a statewide effort to improve the quality of life for all Nebraskans, NPPD is donating nightlights for babies born at hospitals in Scottsbluff, Chadron, Ogallala, Gordon, Kearney, McCook, and Aurora. NPPD considers hospitals to be their “partners in safety.”
On Monday, Terry Rajewich, CKAE, Account Manager at Nebraska Public Power District, presented 800 safety nightlights to Regional West Medical Center’s Birth & Infant Care Center.
“A nightlight can be a reassuring beacon in the dark for young and old alike,” said Rajewich.
NPPD’s Safety Nightlight campaign provides nightlights that automatically turn on when a room darkens for added safety in the home of newborns. The lights provide more than 100,000 hours of light for home safety at a cost of only 30 cents per year.
“I think it’s a wonderful gift to give to the families of babies born here at Regional West,” said Certified Nursing Assistant Betty Castaneda of the Birth & Infant Care Center. “I will make sure every mother gets one to take home with their baby.”
