SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – The fact is startling – there is more bacteria in your mouth right now than there are people on earth. If those germs settle into your gums, gum disease results. Unfortunately, if you have diabetes, you are at higher risk for gum problems, since poor blood glucose control makes gum problems more likely.

Elizabeth Gwin, a dental hygienist from the dental office of Scott Van Noy, DDS will be discussing periodontal disease and general oral health for individuals with diabetes at an upcoming diabetes support group meeting.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24 in Medical Plaza South, meeting room 1202. The meeting is open to all and is free of charge.
