Adult Type 1 Diabetes Patient to Speak at Next Regional West Diabetes Support Group Meeting
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., - Samantha Irvin will present “Telling My Story” at the Regional West Physicians Clinic-Diabetes Care Center support group meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 in Medical Plaza South, room 1202. Irvin was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was eight years old. She will share her personal experience of living with and managing diabetes for the last 11 years. Type 1 diabetes patients ages 6 to 18 and their support persons are invited.
Irvin is a patient mentor for the A1C Champions Program®. A1C Champions® are people who have diabetes and are successfully managing it. They have been trained to empower and motivate other patients by sharing not only their successes, but the challenges and obstacles they’ve overcome and continue to face in managing their diabetes.
