Regional West Foundation and Cancer Services to Host Open House
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Regional West invites the public to an open house to celebrate Regional West’s commitment to enhance patient care with the installation of a new Philips Brilliance Big Bore CT simulator at The Cancer Treatment Center. The purchase of the CT simulator was made possible through Regional West Foundation’s Campaign for Continuing Excellence. The open house will be held Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Regional West Medical Plaza South from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
CT simulation is one of the latest advances in the preparation for the treatment of cancer. It is the most accurate process available to localize, define, and has the ability to reconstruct a patient’s tumor in 3-dimension as well as 4-dimension in some cases.
Cancer Treatment Center Director Jeff Kriewald says the CT simulator dramatically increases the precision of treatment planning by pinpointing the exact location, shape, and size of the tumor to be treated prior to radiation therapy.
“One of the advantages of having this technology is that we know we are providing the best and most accurate treatment available to our patients, all conveniently located in our treatment center,” Kriewald said.
“Regional West Foundation is proud to support the ability to enhance patient care at Regional West. Allocating funds from the ‘Capital Campaign for Continuing Excellence’ for the CT simulator is just one example of our commitment to the regional trauma center and the patient experience,” said John Massey, Chair Regional West Foundation Board of Directors.
Tours will also be given in the new outpatient Infusion Center, located in Medical Plaza South, Suite 2100 on the Regional West campus.
Regional West Foundation has been raising funds for the benefit of the hospital since 1972. The foundation is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization that solicits tax-deductible private contributions for the benefit of Regional West Medical Center.
