Regional West Cancer Services Offers Survivorship Care
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Survivorship care is an important part of comprehensive cancer treatment. It provides follow-up care after initial cancer treatment and is recommended by both The National Health Institute and Commission on Cancer for patients who have undergone cancer treatment. The program begins once treatment is completed and there is no evidence of disease.
At Regional West Medical Center, Survivorship care is provided by highly skilled oncology nurse practitioners. The goal of the ongoing Survivorship program is to provide surveillance for cancer recurrence, secondary cancers, and tools for management of treatment side effects. Patients and their providers discuss an appropriate schedule for follow-up appointments.
Survivorship care is offered to anyone with a history of cancer. For an appointment, contact one of our advanced oncology certified nurse practitioners Susan Schoeneman, MSN, ACNP-BC, AOCNP, or Becci Bowman, DNP, APRN-C, AOCNP, ACHPN, at 308-630-2100.
