Empathy and Professionalism Earns Regional West Employee a Fourth Quarter STAR Award

Regional West recently recognized Aimee Rice as a fourth quarter STAR award recipient.

The STAR program at Regional West encourages employees, patients, their family members, and visitors to nominate employees who demonstrate outstanding care and customer service.

Rice is a patient access specialist in the Patient Access department. A co-worker nominated Aimee and said, “A patient was being transported by the flight team to another facility. The patient was upset because she was not sure if the facility was in-network with her insurance. Aimee visited with the patient and family and was able to verify coverage. She took what was already a high stress situation and helped calm the patient and family. She did so with a smile – very helpful and she is appreciated.”
