Each year, Regional West Foundation grants health education scholarships to students from Regional West’s service area and awards many scholarships each year. Following graduation, many of the students pursue employment in the communities Regional West serves.
Memorial and Honorary Scholarships

Application due: June 3
Regional West Foundation awards over two dozen memorial and honorary scholarships annually. Memorial and honorary scholarships are available to students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing-West Nebraska Division in Scottsbluff. The scholarships average $1,000 each.
To receive the scholarship, recipients must

Maintain a 3.0 GPA

Plan to remain in the western Nebraska/eastern Wyoming area while pursuing a career in the medical field

Be registered as a full-time student
Foundation Legacy Scholarships

Application due: June 3
Each year, the Foundation also awards legacy scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 each, designated for the following programs:

Associate degree in nursing program at Western Nebraska Community College

Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing-West Nebraska Division in Scottsbluff

Regional West Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology (accepted and enrolled)
Eligible students for these scholarships must be:

Enrolled as a sophomore, be a full-time student (second level, or higher), with a 3.2 GPA

Have a desire to pursue employment in the Regional West service area
James Massey, MD, FACS, Surgical Tech Scholarship

Application available starting: April 1
Application due: May 1
Regional West Foundation awards James Massey Surgical Tech scholarships for $1,500 each. Each scholarship is paid as follows: $750 for the fall semester, and $750 for the spring semester.
Eligible candidates must be enrolled full-time in the Surgical Tech Program at Western Nebraska Community College with a 3.0 GPA.
West Nebraska Blood Center Scholarship Application

Eligible students for these scholarships must be pursuing a degree for a career in laboratory medicine (this includes medical laboratory scientist, medical laboratory technician, cytotechnologist, histotechnologist, pathologist assistant, pathologist).
Regional West Foundation is a nonprofit organization that exists to enhance and complement the mission of Regional West Health Services by providing a means for philanthropic support of the hospital and strengthening relationships between the hospital and the company.
