Prairie Haven Hospice to Offer, “Companions to the End” Workshop
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Prairie Haven Hospice will offer a workshop called, “Companions to the End” on Monday, Nov. 10.
This event is for those who seek to offer spiritual care to those who are touched by issues surrounding death and dying. This will be a day of learning and conversation lead by Dr. Paul McAnear, former Director of Pastoral Care at Regional West Medical Center and will include topics about the journey to life’s end. The presentation will be held at Regional West Medical Plaza South, room 1202 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
T. Paul McAnear, M.Div., Ph.D. is a former Director of Pastoral Care for Regional West Medical Center where he worked extensively with Hospice Services. Dr. McAnear served for 15 years as a hospital chaplain and pastoral counselor specializing in pastoral ministry in psychiatric settings before pursuing his doctorate in psychology. Working for several years as a staff psychologist in community mental health in east Tennessee, Dr. McAnear gained extensive experience helping emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and their families. Dr. McAnear is currently a Licensed Psychologist with the University of Tennessee Student Counseling Center where he provides psychotherapy services to students and conducts supervision and training for psychology interns. Dr. McAnear received his M. Div. in 1980 from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and his Ph. D. in Counseling Psychology in 2004 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
