With over 1,000 acres of Ponderosa pines, miles of scenic vistas and nature trails, and (rumor has it) a wildcat or two, the Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area is located just 10 miles south of Gering.
           


Closer to home, the 6.3 mile Monument Valley Pathways trail connects Scottsbluff, Terrytown, and Gering. The Oregon Trail Pathway is adjacent to the Monument.
