Avenue B Construction Project Begins
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Phase I of the project to relocate Avenue B has begun and related construction is underway at both the north and south ends of the Regional West campus.
On Monday, April 18, West 40th Street, west of Avenue B to the alley will be closed and will remain closed throughout Phase I construction. Avenue B will be open to traffic through at least mid-June.
The Scottsbluff Surgery Center will be accessible from Avenue B only. Other businesses located on West 40th Street will be accessible from Avenue D via West 42nd Street and West 39th Street.
Phase I construction will run through mid-June. During this phase, the new route of Avenue B from 42nd Street to 40th Street will be constructed just east of the Emmanuel Congregational Church. Toward the end of this phase, the Apria Building will be relocated south of Regional West Medical Center’s south parking lot, where excavation is currently underway.
Phase II of the construction project is expected to run from mid-June to mid-September. It will involve construction of the curve connecting the new route of Avenue B to the current route.
Phase III of the project will run from mid-September through mid-October. It will involve tying in the new road construction to Avenue B and Rugger Drive.
