Diabetes Care Center Hosts Community Food Drive
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – The Diabetes Care Center at Regional West Physicians Clinic is gathering donations of dry staples and canned goods to provide healthy food for needy families in Scottsbluff and Gering this Christmas season. All donated food items will be delivered to the Community Food Bank.
Food donations may be dropped off at Regional West Physicians Clinic-Diabetes Care Center, Internal Medicine, and all Family Medicine clinic locations between December 9 and 13. Donations are welcome from the public, patients, and Regional West employees.
Suggested items include: canned vegetables, soup, fruit, tuna, chicken, beans, peanut butter, pasta sauce, oatmeal, rice, whole grain or whole wheat pasta, unsweetened cereal, unsalted nuts, and baking products. Fresh fruits and vegetables, including apples, oranges, tangerines, pears, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, avocados, and peppers will be accepted, along with cheese and 100 percent juice.
The staff of the Diabetes Care Center will distribute all food that is collected.
