Diabetes Care Center Invites Public to Open House
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – The public is invited to an open house at the new location of the Diabetes Care Center at Regional West Physicians Clinic-Internal Medicine, Wednesday, April 24 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The event will mark the Diabetes Care Center’s 10th anniversary. It will showcase the department’s new office and provide an opportunity for those with diabetes, their families, friends and the general public to get acquainted with the diabetes care team. Guests will be treated to a healthy snack and tours of the facility. The Diabetes Care Center is located in the South Medical Plaza in Suite 3400.
The Diabetes Care Center staff includes nurse practitioner Mayda Zimmerman, MSN, APRN-C; nurse educator Sherry Smartt, RN; and three Certified Diabetes Educators: Sue Maxcy, RN, CDE; Marcia Bauer, RD, CDE; and Mary Skiles, RD, CDE. Additional staff include: Malissa Meyer, LPN; Shelli Sheperd, LPN; and Misty Smith, scheduler.
The newest addition to the staff is Jaroslaw Aniszewski, MD, the region’s only board-certified endocrinologist. Dr. Aniszewski is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes.
The Diabetes Care Center specializes in medical management and diabetes education. They provide diabetes self-management training for people who are newly diagnosed with diabetes and those who are having difficulty managing their diabetes.
The staff also offers diabetes pump clinics and nutrition education, as well as community education classes.
