Regional West’s New Pain Management Clinic Brings Hope and Relief For Chronic Pain Patients
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Chronic pain is not easy to treat. It’s so complex, in fact, that pain management is a sub-specialty of several medical specialties, including neurology, psychiatry, anesthesiology, and physical and rehabilitation medicine, or rehabilitation medicine.
Regional West Physicians Clinic-Pain Management Clinic was developed to help area residents who suffer chronic pain.
The clinic is staffed by providers who specialize in pain management and rehabilitation medicine. It offers hope and relief to patients who suffer chronic pain related to trauma, cancer, and other illnesses; post-operative pain; headaches; chronic pain of the joints, neck, back; and many other common as well as uncommon pain problems.
The Pain Management Clinic serves as the next step or a “bridge” for patients when primary care cannot provide pain relief. The clinic offers comprehensive pain services including assessment, treatment, education, and follow-up designed to address the physical aspects of pain. Physician referral is required.
Specialized pain care is suited to patients who have suffered for more than a week or two or who live with chronic pain. The staff is trained to determine the need for medication, injections, and/or referral, and coordinate each patient’s care. Once a patient is doing well, he or she is referred back to their primary care provider.
