SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – The Gering Civic Center will be the location as Regional West Foundation hosts its second annual gala, “A Red Carpet Event,” on October 12. The gala will raise funds for development of the new Regional West Educational Center.

The semi-formal event will begin at 6 p.m. with cocktails. A silent auction will take place throughout the evening. Dinner at 7:30 p.m. will be followed by a live auction, which includes vacation and golf packages and much more. The evening will continue with dancing and musical entertainment by Denver’s “The Spotlight Band.”

“A Red Carpet Event” will honor former Scottsbluff surgeon Lloyd Westerbuhr, MD, and his wife Marcia, who now reside in Arizona.

“Dr. Westerbuhr is recognized throughout the state of Nebraska for spearheading the development of both the Regional West trauma network as well as the statewide trauma network. We’re excited to welcome him home and to have the opportunity to honor him for his dedication to quality care that he provided to Nebraska for 27 years,” said Giselle Harbach, gala co-chair.

This year’s gala will serve as a springboard for the development of a state-of-the-art education center at the Medical Center.

“Continuing education is essential for physicians and health care workers. By building a new education center, Regional West will be better able to provide continuing education classes for employees and medical staff on-site, year-round,” said Jacquie Hartman, gala co-chair.
