Attention to Detail and Willingness to Help Earns Regional West Employee a Second Quarter STAR Award

Regional West recently recognized Cindy Todd as second quarter STAR award recipient.

The STAR program at Regional West encourages employees, patients, their family members, and visitors to nominate employees who demonstrate outstanding care and customer service.

Todd, who retired in September after 33 years at Regional West, worked as a supply and glassware coordinator in the Laboratory. Her nomination from a coworker read: “Cindy was leaving work and noticed an elderly person in the parking lot who appeared to be struggling with walking towards the door. She approached her and asked if she could help and the woman was very grateful. Cindy went and got a wheelchair and took her up to third floor where she was visiting a patient. She let her know to ask the nurses if they could get ahold of security to help her get safely back to her vehicle when she was ready to leave. Great job!”

Laboratory Director Kelly Ramirez said she appreciated Cindy’s attention to detail and her willingness to help wherever needed.

“Cindy was on top of everything!” said Ramirez. “If I (or anyone) had any issues with supplies, we would head to Cindy and nine times out of 10 she was already researching it and had contacted the necessary people so we could move forward. We certainly miss her expertise and willingness to always do what was best for our patients.”
