Director of Imaging Services Honored with Alumni Hall of Fame Award
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Regional West Director of Imaging Services Wendy Stirnkorb, CRA, RT (R) (MR) MRSO (MRSC), was recently honored by her alma mater, the University of South Alabama, as the 2018 inductee into the Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions Hall of Fame. She is one of only 15 alumni awarded the honor since its inception, and the first such honoree from the university’s Radiologic Sciences department.
Stirnkorb, who has served as director of Regional West’s Imaging Services department and dean of Regional West’s School of Radiologic Technology since June 2017, is a 2003 graduate of the Radiologic Sciences program at the University of South Alabama, and a 2004 graduate of the same university. In 2016, she earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from American Public University, and is pursuing her PhD in Leadership and Development. Prior to coming to Regional West, Stirnkorb served in a management capacity at Johns Hopkins Medicine, the University of Chicago Medicine, and the Mayo Clinic Health System. An experienced lecturer, she has presented at a number of radiologic technology conferences throughout the country and serves on several boards.
"We’re fortunate to have someone with Wendy’s level of dedication and commitment to her profession as part of the Regional West team," said John Mentgen, President and CEO of Regional West Health Services. "Wendy exemplifies the qualities we strive for at Regional West every day – we congratulate her on a well-deserved honor.”
Stirnkorb said being chosen for the Hall of Fame honor is ‘very humbling’ and she is grateful to have been selected.
“Health care is all about the people we serve, and I came to Scottsbluff and Regional West Medical Center because my heart is in community health,” she said. “I love that our patients are our neighbors; people we see in the grocery store and at church. We are caring for our coworkers and family members – building relationships with people.”
