First State Bank donates $100,000 to Regional West Foundation
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – The Campaign for Continuing Excellence is one step closer to reaching its $4.2 million goal. First State Bank donated $100,000 to support Regional West Foundation in improving health care technology in the panhandle.
“It is important to me to give back to the community”, said Marv Hefti, chairman and CEO of First State Bank. “The Foundation set an ambitious goal for an important cause, and we want to help them achieve it.”
Regional West Foundation Director Shelley Knutson is pleased with the campaign’s progress. “It is exciting to see us moving closer to our goal. The projects funded by the campaign will support the community for years to come.”
The Campaign for Continuing Excellence provided resources to design, construct, furnish, and provide the latest technology for an on-site education center. The new training facility will expand local continuing education opportunities for hospital staff and providers. It is scheduled for completion in August.
In addition, the campaign is funding the renovation of patients rooms on the Second West adult surgical patient unit. Room renovation will continue throughout the remainder of the year.
“The first patient room is almost complete and we are so excited by the beautiful décor,” said Diana Baratta, MSN, MA, RN, director of medical surgical services. “We’re so pleased that Regional West Foundation recognizes the value of enhancing patient rooms to ensure a calming, comfortable patient-centered environment that promotes relaxation and healing.”
Regional West Foundation has been raising funds for the benefit of the hospital since 1972. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that solicits tax-deductible private contributions for the benefit of Regional West Medical Center.
