Positive Attitude and Compassion Leads to Second Quarter PEARL Recognition for Regional West Employee

Regional West recently recognized Kasandra Garza as a second quarter PEARL award recipient.

The PEARL award recognizes employees for outstanding customer service, quality patient care, and teamwork reflecting Pride, Effort, Attentiveness, Respect, and Leadership. Each quarter, the PEARL committee selects individuals who exemplify outstanding teamwork and those who have gone above and beyond to take care of their patients and/or co-workers.

Garza, a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Urgent Care, has been with Regional West for almost two years. Her nomination from a coworker read: “A woman in a wheelchair came to the Women's Center but it was the wrong place. Kasandra explained where to go. The woman looked confused, sad, and disheartened about having to go somewhere else, especially with the difficult route it would take. Kasandra volunteered and showed the lady where to go. She did it with excitement and a smile on her face.”

Regional West Physicians Clinics Nurse Manager Valerie Beraun said, “Kassi has embraced her new position as CMA and takes on each day with a positive attitude focused on providing great patient care.” Congratulations, Kasandra!
