Regional West Cancer Services Invites Area Residents to Tour the Prevent Cancer Super Colon®
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Regional West Cancer Services invites area residents to learn more on how to prevent colon cancer with a walk through a 20-foot long, 8-foot high colon June 13 and 15.
The Prevent Cancer Super Colon® is an interactive educational tool that travels to communities across America with the message that colorectal cancer is preventable, treatable, and beatable with healthy lifestyle choices and regular screenings.
The Super Colon will be open Thursday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Regional West’s Education Center, and Saturday, June 15 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Festival of Hope, Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds. There is no cost to attend the exhibit.
According to the Nebraska Cancer Coalition, colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men and women combined in the United States, with an estimated 950 new cases of colorectal cancer in Nebraska in 2023.
