Regional West Celebrates DAISY Nurse Award Winner
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Regional West recently recognized Nancy Mainelli, RN, as the facility’s first DAISY Award winner of 2024.
Mainelli, a registered nurse in Regional West Birth and Infant Care Center and Pediatrics, was recently celebrated by Regional West leadership, her family, and fellow employees for her dedication to her patients. The DAISY Award is an international program that celebrates outstanding nurses who demonstrate a dedication to excellence through clinical expertise, compassionate care, and extraordinary service.
Mainelli’s nomination said, “Every time she entered our room, she was my son’s biggest cheerleader. She was constantly thinking of new tactics to get my little guy breathing better. Every step of the way I trusted that she was going to help get us out of here. In her eyes, you could see compassion and kindness. In her actions, you could see dedication and determination. She is an angel.”
Birth and Infant Care Center and Pediatrics Director Kynzie Lentfer, BSN, RN, CLC, praised Manelli for her commitment to patients while helping fellow nurses.
“Nancy is a dedicated mentor to newer employees and often stays late, works extra, or changes her hours to support new hires through pediatric orientation opportunities,” she said. “Nancy genuinely loves the work she does and shows it through excellent patient care. We are so lucky to have her as part of our team.”
