Regional West Employees Set Record for United Way Fundraising
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Regional West Health Services employees showed their commitment and support for the United Way of Western Nebraska by raising a record $51,285 during their 2008 in house corporate campaign.
“I am very proud of the amount of money our employees raise for United Way each year,” said Todd Sorensen, MD, Regional West president and CEO. “We have a caring group of people working at the hospital. Their compassion for community need is evident in their dedication to causes such as United Way.”
Each year, Regional West hosts a week of activities designed to build awareness about United Way and raise funds for the local organization. This year, events included a bake sale, Husker tailgate party, a silent auction, doctor’s head shaving contest and several raffles.
“It’s really a fun week for our employees,” said Jennifer Lindeken, Regional West in house United Way committee chair. “The spirit of giving is in the air along with lots of laughter and good times.”
The events are planned by Regional West’s in house United Way committee, a planning process that takes several months, said Lindeken. “The committee is strictly volunteer and has a great group of employees who strongly believe in the cause. Their energy level is amazing.,” said Lindeken.
