Regional West To Host Open House for New Interventional Radiology Suite

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Regional West invites the community to attend its new Interventional Radiology suite open house on Tuesday, July 2, 4 to 6 p.m., in Regional West Imaging Services’ Interventional Radiology department. Please enter through the hospital’s main entrance at 4021 Avenue B, Scottsbluff. Refreshments will be provided.

Interventional radiology is a unique blend of imaging and surgery that uses imaging equipment such ultrasounds, CT scans, and live X-ray to treat everything from poor leg circulation to broken bones in the spine. The open house will showcase the advanced features of the new ARTIS icono ceiling by Siemens Healthineers, a ceiling-mounted angiography system that is designed for a wide range of routine and advanced interventional radiology procedures.

The new system has a high degree of mechanical flexibility and advanced positioning accuracy, including tools such as Embolization Guidance and myNeedle Companion to help simplify complex procedures. The rotational capabilities and simplified cabling of the C-arm produce 3D images in just two and a half seconds at the patient’s head, and four seconds at the left and right sides of the body. The short 3D spin time means less time for patients to move, resulting in better image quality.

Interventional Radiology Supervisor Sarah Houk, BS, R.T.(R)(VI), said the new system offers state-of-the-art technology for an enhanced patient experience.

“We are proud to have cutting-edge interventional radiology equipment in our new suite,” she said. “The capabilities of this new system are incredible, and we look forward to providing our patients with an excellent experience.”

Regional West Imaging Services Director Josh Lively, MHA, BS, R.T.(R)(VI), said the addition shows the facility’s dedication to expanding quality imaging services for the region’s patients.

“Advances in technology are an ever-important part of healthcare, and the new Siemens ARTIS icono unit is a step forward for us,” he said. “It offers many exciting new features that will allow our physicians to treat an even wider range of cases. Our department is very excited about what we can do moving forward,” he said.
