SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Regional West Medical Center will host a walk-in flu clinic on Thursday, November 29, in recognition of National Influenza Vaccination Week—a designation made by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to highlight the importance of influenza (flu) vaccination. According to the CDC, vaccination is the single best way to protect yourself and your loved ones against influenza.

Influenza can be a serious disease, and for some, it’s deadly. Vaccination is especially important for young children, people who are fifty or older, pregnant women, and those with chronic health conditions like asthma, heart disease or diabetes. Persons who live with or provide health care to those at high risk, should also be vaccinated. The vaccine is not a live virus and does NOT give people the flu.

The walk-in flu shot clinic will be held on Thursday, November 29 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Regional West Community Health office, located on the lower level of the South Unit at 3700 Avenue B.

The fee for flu shots is $30. Medicare Part B will be billed for those who bring their cards. Flu vaccinations will be provided free of charge for children age six months up to their fifth birthday.
