Regional West Medical Center Receives New Patient Beds
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., ― Patients at Regional West will be resting more comfortably in new beds, thanks to a donation from Regional West Foundation.
Regional West’s inpatient nursing floors received 60 new Stryker beds on Jan. 2. The facility is also set to receive four bariatric beds and four labor and delivery beds, as well as 19 Emergency Department stretchers, 12 peri-op stretchers, and five stretchers for the Imaging Services department. The new additions total approximately $1.6 million.
Chief Nursing Officer Erika Carmody, MSN, RN, said in addition to being equipped with enhanced features, the new beds can go as low as eleven inches from the ground, offering better protection against falls. The mattresses also include a gel support surface that helps prevent skin and pressure injuries.
“We are thrilled to receive these beds and can’t wait for our patients to experience enhanced comfort,” said Carmody. “I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Regional West Foundation and their donors for making this purchase possible, and for their continual support toward bettering services for our patients.”
John Massey, Regional West Foundation Board Chair, said it was a privilege to help provide new nursing equipment to Regional West.
“Regional West’s nursing staff are heroes, and Regional West Foundation is happy to assist with providing these much-needed upgrades.”
The Regional West Foundation was established in 1972 to support the health system’s mission of excellence in healthcare. Today, the Foundation's success is a continuation of a long and proud tradition of community support for superior healthcare services in the communities it serves.
