Cancer Survivors’ Day is an annual event at which cancer survivors, their families, physicians and other members of the oncology health care team gather to applaud cancer survivors and their personal victories. A cancer survivor is anyone with a history of cancer and includes newly diagnosed as well as long-term survivors.
The theme of this year’s Cancer Survivors’ Day is Slaying Your Dragons. Bridgeport native Cheryl Stevens will give the keynote address, “Grab your hat and hang on for the blessings.” Stevens overcame her fear of cancer with an irrepressible attitude and a decision to celebrate life with humor and joy.
