Volunteers & Friends at Regional West Recruiting Volunteers
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Do you want to make a positive impact in your community? Volunteers and Friends of Regional West offers many opportunities for women, men, and young adults to be of service to others.
Learn how you can become a hospital volunteer at the volunteer recruitment fair Jan. 31 at Regional West. Hosted by Volunteers and Friends of Regional West, the event will be held in the Regional West Education Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
By volunteering you can make a big difference in your own life and the lives of others, helping to make our community a better place. When you volunteer you create connections, meet new people and see old friends, get real-world experience, and have fun! Individuals that are interested in volunteering should have a positive attitude and enjoy helping others.
At Regional West, volunteers staff hospital information centers and the surgery waiting room; deliver patient mail, magazines and flowers; buy for, manage, and clerk in the Gift Shop; volunteer at the immunization clinic, Cancer Treatment Center, and the Breast Health Center; and provide clerical, non-clinical, and/or technical support for a number of departments.
Carr Trumbull of Scottsbluff regularly staffs the information desk at Regional West Medical Plaza North. “I enjoy helping and being of service to others. Volunteering at Regional West gives me a chance to see and visit with old friends who I no longer see in a business or professional setting. It’s fun and it makes me feel good,” said Trumbull.
His wife, Sarah, is also a long-time volunteer. “I am a cancer survivor and have been blessed by the doctors and staff who cared for me years ago, so I’m happy to contribute in any way I can and I enjoy helping as a volunteer.”
For over 60 years, volunteers have been a proud part of Regional West. They represent a variety of professions, age groups, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and physical abilities. Approximately 300 volunteers donate almost 30,000 volunteer hours to the hospital each year.
