Regional West Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology has six different facilities each student rotates through for clinical education during the two years in the program.
Students may fill out the application form online below. The application deadline is the first business day of February. There is no application fee. The observation form must be emailed to: RadiologySchool@rwhs.org
The School of Radiologic Technology offers a 2-year program. Students are automatically registered for classes at Regional West. Students who are co-registered with University of Nebraska-Kearney, or Chadron State College are responsible for registering for classes through these institutions.
First Year Courses
Regional West Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology has established affiliation with several academic institutions to enable student to pursue an associate’s or a baccalaureate degree.
1. The applicant must be a high school graduate or the equivalent.
2. The applicant must have attained the age of 18 years prior to the start of the Program.
3. The applicant must have a minimum of 35 hours of college credit. Credit hours may be taken at any college or university. Regional West School of Radiologic Technology has established the following as prerequisites of college credit prior to entering the Program:
Radiologic technologists are healthcare professionals who perform medical imaging. They are educated in topics from anatomy and physics to patient positioning and radiation safety. The patient is always their focus. Our local program uses hands-on learning to teach you how to become a radiologic technologist in just two years. Scholarships are available and there is no application fee.
The nursing philosophy at Regional West is shared governance. The staff nurse shares in the decision-making at both the unit and division level of nursing.
Regional West Medical Center partners with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, to provide a two-year family medicine residency program in Scottsbluff.
Through the Family Medicine Residency program, physicians move to the Scottsbluff-Gering area to complete the final two years of a three-year residency program under the guidance of Regional West physicians. Family medicine residents develop a continuity practice as they care for patients at Regional West Physicians Clinic-Family Medicine.
