Village At Regional West Celebrates National Assisted Living Week
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., -Residents of The Village at Regional West are celebrating their “Living Legacies” as part of National Assisted Living Week.
The weeklong national celebration offers an opportunity for seniors and people with disabilities who call assisted living “home” to share their legacies with friends, family, community and one another.
The celebration kicked off last Sunday with a potluck dinner to celebrate the living legacies of assisted living residents. Hallways have been decorated with residents’ photos and personal treasures on display for friends, family and other residents to view.
On Monday, residents celebrated the legacy of history with a trip to the North Platte Valley Museum followed by horse and carriage rides provided by Ivan Rusch.
September 11th activities centered on the legacy of freedom and featured a patriotic musical presentation by Roosevelt Elementary students and a special tribute to military veterans.
Several residents participated in Wednesday’s 5th Annual Assisted Living Senior Olympics at the Mitchell Event Center.
Today, it’s all aboard for a world cruise. With the assisted living unit decked out as a cruise ship and passports stamped, “cruise director” Marilyn Kennedy will introduce residents to exotic ports and vacation spots around the world.
On Friday, residents will celebrate the legacy of foods with a worldwide food court and wine tasting event. They will enjoy dishes from some of the many different countries and cultures represented by Village residents.
The week’s activities will wrap up Saturday with a trip to Monument Mall to enjoy the “Mystical Magic of the Endangered.”
