The only Level II Trauma Center in Nebraska west of Kearney, Regional West serves as a regional referral center for western Nebraska, eastern Wyoming, southern South Dakota, and northern Colorado. The Emergency Department is equipped with a telemedicine service, which allows Regional West physicians to consult with doctors from referring hospitals via a computer link for the evaluation of patients, and to assist with the transportation of patients to the most appropriate level of care.
The Emergency Department is staffed by physicians, as well as midlevel providers, registered nurses, and a dedicated support staff.
